AGAINST NINE REALMS

”Hahaha! This is great! All four perils are here together! ” another cultivator said while playing with the sword in his hand.

(ROAR!)

QiongQi howled in anger like it was warning the humans from approaching. But a golden net infused with Heavenly Qi from the five experts came in response to the roar. The speed of this trap was shocking, as it caught TaoWu inside in a blink of an eye.

(Roar!)

QiongQi was the most aggressive of the four and immediately struck the net to bring TaoWu out of the dangerous situation. To its surprise, all the effort was useless as the treasured net remained intact even after receiving QiongQis attack.

(TaoWu! Stop dreaming and ignoring everything! Youll die if you keep standing there like a dimwit! Can you hear me?)

QiongQi continued to roar. Unfortunately, TaoWu remained still like a stump over there, not doing anything or retaliating.

The five experts each executed their strongest move, directing it towards the ignorant TaoWu. And without any resistance, the mythical beast was blasted by all sorts of attacks, from slicing to punches, frost, explosion, and slaps, until not a single cell of its existence remained.

TaoWu pops like a medicinal pill that fails to withstand the tempering process. And all that was left was an orb about the size of a ceremonial cauldron.

”At last! Thats the Mythical Beast Core we
e searching for! ” the five cultivators were smiling from one side of their cheek to another. Surprisingly, the next battle was between them as they competed over the cores ownership.

”Thats mine! ”

”No! Its mine! ”

The five experts exchanged a few blows amongst one another, unaware that the core was snatched by TaoTie under their eyes. It was too late by the time they finally noticed that the shining core crystal was missing, as it had already gone inside TaoTies mouth.

All they could see was how the core was devoured by the darkness and went missing forever.

(How delicious. I had no idea TaoWu would taste a little grassy and woody. Was it because hes daydreaming too much and looking like a tree stump?)

TaoTie grumbled like a gourmet after snatching the beast core from the experts eyelid and swallowing it before their eyes. The sight itself made the experts go emotional and find it difficult to process.

(You idiot, TaoTie… You actually ate TaoWu into your bottomless stomach. How will he come out now?)

QiongQi was unsure of praising TaoTie or blaming it. But its glutton had indeed stopped the human expert from having a chance to break their mortal shell and become immortal.

”My Mythical Beast Core! ” one of the five experts almost wailed on the spot due to the disappointment. The others were as shocked as he was, but he looked the saddest out of them, like it was his own family member that got eaten.

The other four were similarly shocked. But managed to control themselves from becoming a laughingstock to the cultivators rushing here.

As TaoTie and HunDun looked around without knowing what to do, a pair of tails came and wrapped both mythical beasts and escaped together. The tail owner is, no doubt, QiongQi. After all, it was the sanest amongst the four.

But again, being the wisest doesn mean it was the most considerate and smartest. There was a reason why it was named ”QiongQi, ” which meant poor and strange.

The trio roared as they flew out of the Shangyuan Realm, unaware that QiongQis voice somewhat acted like the tracking beacon to mankind. Although they managed to distance themselves from the human experts, their whereabouts were not hidden.

(How can the smelly human keep tracking us wherever we go? Did both of you turn your tail and side with the humans?)

QiongQi asked the other two out of anger. But soon, it realized that the possibility of TaoTie growing a body and HunDun growing a head and tail was much higher compared to them defecting to the humans camp.

Again, it still had no idea it was the one that loudly announced its positioning away.

Before the trio could realize it, a combination attack took HunDun out of the picture. Through the same attack as before, HunDun ended up as the experts second target and exploded all over the place, without a single cell surviving the attack.

”Ill keep that TaoTie occupied! The four of you, grab the Mythical Beast Core! ” the cultivator who uses Talisman and Mantra Seal techniques said before tossing multiple restrictions all over the space.

They seem hellbent on stopping the two mythical beasts, especially TaoTie, from snatching the second core.

(Human! How despicable for you to attack us sneakily!)

QiongQi howled from the pent-up anger and attempted to attack the four experts aiming for HunDuns core. And to its surprise, the restriction mantra could even keep it off from approaching.

”Good job, Venerable Hu. With these restrictions around, lets see how they can stop us from obtaining the core! ” the four experts smiled and reached their hands to HunDuns core.

They don seem to be contending with one another, which means a mutual agreement has been made. After all, fighting one another right here would bring no benefit to anyone here.

TaoTie confusedly stared at Venerable Hu in his attempt to stop it from eating the core. Feeling like the food will be snatched by the human if it were to act later, TaoTie vanishes from where it was and run its black hole tongue over the mantra.

All the formations were devoured or destroyed without resistance. HunDuns core was also in the path of TaoTies tongue and ended up in its mouth.

(Wow! This is nice. HunDun tastes weird. Theres spicy, sweet, tangy, and even bitterness the more I bite into it. These humans seem to be very interested in our cores. I wonder, is it because they wanted to eat us too?)

(Sigh… Why can you just search for your own food? Its not like I am trying to fight food over you people…)

TaoTie sighed, unaware that it had become the experts prime target for snatching two cores from them. Suppose all its thoughts were translated to a language mankind could understand. In that case, they might be coughing blood to know what was going on in TaoTies mind.

(Roar!)

QiongQi was thoroughly pissed after seeing two of its companions die at the human experts hands. Feeling it would no longer hold itself back, the mythical beast finally decides to went all out against the five venerable experts.

But before starting, QiongQi once again wrapped its tail around TaoTie.

(You should take refuge inside that Disastrous Domain. There would be hope as long as one of us is alive…)

Said QiongQi before tossing TaoTie towards the hideout. From its word, this place known as Disastrous Domain was a safe haven for the four.

(Come, human! Let me, QiongQi, face all of you alone! Ill let you taste the strength of the strongest out of the four perils, QiongQi!)

The mythical beast retaliates by going face to face against five venerable experts at once.

”Slay the beast! ” the venerable shouted before bringing all their might against QiongQi, the strongest out of the four. The epic battle lasted for half a day, destroying one minor realm and one continent to another.

The outcome was to their expectations.

Using the life of one venerable in exchange, they successfully beheaded the strongest of four perils before appearing in front of the remaining experts coming from the Nine Realms.

”With TaoTie trapped within the Disastrous Domain, the four perils are no more! ” said one of the venerable experts as they announced their victory. The head of QiongQis was on display as they spoke in front of the experts from the Nine Realms.

The body and Mythical Beast Core were also displayed to elevate the venerable experts status further.

But right in front of a million peoples eyes, a tongue covered with darkness went over QiongQis corpse, core, and even the dead venerables body.

Openly and without fears, TaoTie happily swallowed everything like a gourmet without considering these peoples feelings. All there was in its eyes was the ”edibles ” it was drooling for.

”N-No!!! ” the venerable experts screamed in anguish as the third Mythical Beast Core was gone right before their eyes.

(Oh! QiongQi tasted not bad as well. No wonder the human experts hunt us without bothering if they live or die. I wonder what kind of taste I had…)

TaoTie immediately drooled on the spot when thinking about how delicious itself could be. The thought that it will be the most hated living being in this world doesn even come across its mind, let alone feeling bothered by it.

Then, an attack came and left a deep sword wound on the head as TaoTie found a mountain that looked delicious not too far away.

(Ouch!)

TaoTie growled with the voice like a crying infant. But no matter what kind of sound it could produce, this last member of the four perils would be definitely unable to escape from getting slain today.

”Lets butcher the last of the four perils! Well destroy them entirely and cull all their offsprings from the Nine Realms! ” shouted one of the four venerable experts. In less than an hour, TaoTie, consisting of a head without a body, was chopped into pieces.

To mankinds surprise, this last member of the four perils didn resist. It doesn feel like they
e fighting a mythical beast at all.

(Finally, my core is in the open too… I wonder how I taste…)

Using all the strength left, TaoTie moved its tongue for the last time, devouring its core and flesh, thus vanishing from this world entirely.

”No! This couldn be! It couldn possibly happen!!! ” the venerable expert could only cry as they were ultimately defeated by a glutton.
