Episode 61 – Sea Serpent Girl and Tyrannosaurus Girl (part 1)

Author Note: It’s fun when you finally get to introduce characters from side stories into the main storyline.

You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it.
It’s basically what happens here.

______________________________________________________________________

“I’ve given you a name, just like you asked.
I ask you again, who are you?”

“You can call me Tiramisu or Tira-chan since you’ve given me a name ”

Tiramisu said, striking a cute pose once again.

“Okay, Tiramisu.
Is this okay?”

“Yes ”

You’re a very energetic little girl, aren’t you? Well, I’m also a person from another world, looks can be deceiving.

“Tira-chan is a reincarnated Tyrannosaurus humanized juvenile girl as you can see with your ”

“Alta…”

“Yes-u Sleep study? I’ve heard a lot about you, while in the egg ”

I’m guessing Alta talked to you while you were in my inventory.
I don’t know how much she told you, but…

A: “Pretty much everything.
I tried talking to her when her status got fixed, and she responded, so I gave her a lot of information before she hatched.“

“Tyrannosaurus? System Window? What are you talking about?”

“Alta, please.“

A: “All right.
I’ll explain.“

“What? Another voice in my head? Who is it this time?“

The confused Sea Serpent girl, Maple, was left to Alta.
She seems to be having fun over there, but as expected, I can’t handle them both at the same time.

“So, if you’re a reincarnated person, then I assume you remember your previous life.
Who the hell are you?”

“I’m sorry I don’t know ”

“What?”

“It’s a case of memory loss Well, I don’t know if it’s the right way to describe it, since it’s about previous life’s memories I know things, but I don’t remember I know the layout of the city I lived in, the anime I watched and the manga and novels I read, but… ”

“You can remember that much and yet you still don’t know who you are…”

They say that, even in the case of a complete amnesia you still keep your general knowledge.
I’ve heard of people forgetting the names of family members or the town they live in, but not how to use chopsticks or ride a train.
I wonder if the memories are stored in a different part of the brains… Well, I don’t know for sure since it had never happened to me.

But why would you lose your memories after being reincarnated? It shouldn’t really affect you brain functions.
If anything, I’d say it would make more sense for it to happen after being brought back to life.

“But it doesn’t affect my life over here, so I don’t really care ”

Surprisingly bold.
Even if you’ve lost your memory, it doesn’t matter because it’s a different life in the first place…

Still, it’s another person with memory loss, after Yuria from the Kastal’s adventurers group.

A: “There are six more people with memory loss among the subordinates collected from various places.”

…I didn’t know.

Anyway, amnesia often leads to things like hidden pasts and shocking truths.

At the very least, it’s almost certainly the case with Yuria… She’s a 392-year-old High Elf with ‘Elven Princess Shrine Maiden’ and ‘Royalty’ titles.
It’s a pretty obvious flag.

“By the way, I don’t see ‘Amnesia’ among your titles.”

ED Reminder: It was another one of Yuria’s titles.

“I haven’t lost any memories since being born in this world.”

“That’s true.”

I don’t know what it means, for her to be a reincarnated person with memory loss, but it doesn’t seem to be a lie at the very least.

A: “No doubt about it.“

“I don’t really understand it, but I’m looking forward to working with you in the future, papa ”

“Please don’t call me papa.”

I don’t want to be a parent of such a mysterious creature.

Or am I already imprinted?

A: “I apologize.”

“Well… then, darling ”

“No.”

“Okay, then honey ”

“It’s not much better than ‘darling’, but it’s a hassle to keep going.
Let’s leave it at that.”

“Well then hello honey ”

I would like to ask why such a strange creature was born in the first place.

A: “I think it would be pretty unlikely for an egg hatched by Master to be normal.”

…Well, I suppose you could argue that.

“So, why did you use the ‘transformation’ skill to take on a human form?”

“Because honey prefers little girls to dinosaurs ”

Tiramisu answered my question without hesitation.

Can you even compare the two?

“If honey lusts for a dinosaur, I’ll be a dinosaur ”

“What do you mean, ‘lusts’…”

As expected, I don’t have such a crazy preference.

“Even if I look like a little girl, it’s nice to be accepted flicker flicker ”

Tiramisu turns up the hem of her skirt.
She flashes me without any hesitation.
(ED Reminder: She wasn’t wearing anything underneath…) Even without her past life memories, I can already tell she’s a slut.

“Why would you…”

“…I don’t want to die again, but then again, I’m scared of getting pregnant” (ED: muttering to herself)

“Hmm?”

“Nothing Because I love honey ”

For a moment, I thought I heard her say something in a very low voice, but I missed it.

“You already know the rest of the group, right?”

“I’ve heard from Alta, so I’m fine.
Maria-san, Dora-senpai, it’s nice to meet you.”

“I’m looking forward to working with you.”

“Hello.”

Maria is addressed as ‘san’, but Dora is addressed as ‘senpai’… I’m sure it’s because she’s technically her cousin.

ED Reminder: Dora is a dragon transformed into a loli.

“So, can you fight? It looks like you have the ‘Tyrant’ skill?”

“I’ve never fought before, but I’m sure I can handle it.
The ‘Tyrant’ skill is a normal skill, not a curse.”

“By normal skill, you mean…”

As long as you can turn a blessing into a normal skill, it wouldn’t be surprising if you could do the same thing with a curse.
However, curses don’t leave behind remnants, so I’m not sure you can actually reproduce it in the same way.

“…basically, you can turn it off at will, since having monsters run away from you might be a problem, depending on what you’re trying to do?”

“Yes ”

This is the current effect of the ‘Tyrant’ skill, by the way.

Impossible to tame (disabled).
Harder to escape (optional).
Causes weaker monsters to flee (optional).

Since she’s already been tamed, it seems that the first effect is nullified.

I’m also curious about the other curse the Tyrannosaurus had, the ‘Evil Star’.
She still has the ‘Tyrant’, but the other one’s gone.
I wonder whatever happened to it?

A: “Unknown.“

That’s disturbing.
Something that even Alta doesn’t know…

It might have something to do with turning the curse into a normal skill, but I can’t say for sure right now.
Well, I’ll keep it in mind for now.

“I’m sure you’ll figure it out eventually.”

“Ok ”

If you don’t need any more explanation, next is the Sea Serpent girl.
When I think about it, I’ve barely heard a word from her from when I tamed her until now.
It’s a big deal in its own right, but I think Tiramisu, the dinosaur girl, took away most of her spotlight.

“Thanks for waiting for me.
Now let’s talk about you Maple.”

“Finally.
I’ve heard most of the information about master from Alta-san.
As I thought, I seem to have become a follower of an extraordinary person.”

I see that Alta has told you all about us.

Thanks to Alta explaining things, I don’t have to introduce myself or my friends these days.
It’s quite convenient.

“So, please introduce yourself.”

“Self-introduction? Yes… My name is Maple, and I’m the Sea Serpent of this lake.
I’m good at swimming and water magic.
I’m not a fan of hot places and fishing hooks.”

“So you are a Nushi…” (ED: ‘Biggest fish in a pond’.)

Sea serpents aren’t really fish, so it sound a bit weird to call her that.
Still, she’s the biggest catch in the lake, so, as an angler, I’m feeling pretty proud right now.

“Congratulations, Jin-sama!”

Maria praised me.
I was happy, but why could she praise me so timely?

A: “You realize she’s closely following your every move, right?”

“What do you mean?”

“No, nothing.
It’s just that Maple has been living in this lake for a long time now.”

“Yes, that’s right.
It’s been a while, about fifty years.”

“That’s quite a long time.
In that case, why was it so easy to catch you?”

To be more specific, I got a bite within seconds of casting the hook.

“It’s hard for me to admit, but I’ve been feeling a bit weird since two days ago.
Today, I couldn’t stand it any longer, so I went close to the surface to investigate, and got caught in an instant.
Ssu.” (Weeping SFX)

“Two days ago, that’s when I started fishing.”

“It must have been master’s proximity that made me itchy.”

“If honey is fishing and there’s a Nushi out there, there’s no way you wouldn’t run into each other ”

“Jin-sama’s encounter rate with rare monsters is extremely high.”

“Dora was the first!”

Sorry, the goblin healer was the first rare monster I encountered.

Also, Dora didn’t have (rare) attached to her name.

“Why is a Sea Serpent in a lake in the first place?”

“The waves are noisy and storms annoy me.
The ocean is pretty hard to live in.
I feel much more at home in the lake.”

“Is that really OK for a Sea Serpent?”

“I’d prefer to be a Lake Serpent if I could.”

Apparently, being in the ocean is not part of her identity.
She cares more about the ease of living.

“Are you capable of staying on land for extended periods of time?”

“I think so.
I can go anywhere on land, sea, or air.
I’m proud to say that I’m a first-class monster mount.”

Maple proudly displayed her ample breasts.
She can go in the air as well as underwater thanks to her ‘flying’ skill.
In that sense, it would be quite useful… Originally.

“I don’t need it since I can travel on land by carriage and fly on my own.
Well, I’ll ask of you when I have to go into water, though I have no such plans at the moment…”

“Master is so awesome, I don’t think I’m worth anything! What is it? Is there anything I can do to help?”

“I didn’t make you a follower because I wanted you to be useful…”

It’s just that I have a disease that makes me want to tame rare monsters whenever I see one.

If it’s a slave, I want ones with an interesting skill or title, and if it’s a monster, I’ll want to have the rare ones.
In the case of slaves, there is an actual purpose for buying them, but in the case of monster followers, it’s 100% random at the moment.

This is why I have a policy of basically letting my monster followers run free (except Dora).
Midori, the dryad, is idling in my mansion, and Tamo-san, the transforming slime, doesn’t seem to have anything she wants to do.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have the vampire Mira as a monster follower, but as a subordinate, she is allowed a lot of freedom.

“I’m not sure I want to do that either.
I’m pretty big myself, you know? I’ve finally found a master to serve, but not you treat me like that!”

“I’m not sure what you want me to do about it… I have three main objectives right now: getting more subordinates, persuading the Crimson Empire, and finding a way to return home.”

“Your subordinates! I can help you with that.
First of all, I can call all the fish in this lake…”.

“There’s no point in doing that, except to eat them…”

I’d rather buy or catch fish than eat them after they’re under my control.

“In the first place, it’s difficult to tame ordinary fish because the skill only works on monsters.
Unless you understand the fish language…”

doesn’t work, and is a skill for teaching tricks, so it’s another thing entirely.
There is no such thing as a skill that can be used to control fish.

If you can communicate with the fish, you might be able to persuade them, but…”

“I can’t communicate with fish.
I’m not a fish in the first place…”

“Then I can’t make them my subordinates.
No, I don’t even want to.”

“It’s a pity… Oh, how about I tell you where the other strong monsters are?”

“Oh, let’s hear it.”

I was a little intrigued.
