As such, Su Ran had no idea why the Su family returned so much earlier than they did in the original novel.
However, there was one thing she could be certain of.

And that was: The Su family, having “developed” for so many years overseas, would only consider returning to the domestic market because they were desperate.

They would not otherwise have gone above and beyond looking for Su Ran’s son, who was already a big villain by then, in the original novel.

“You should stop while you are ahead!” said Su Jianguo as he stood up and stared angrily at Su Ran through gritted teeth.

“You are just a ‘so-called’ Madam of the Lu family.
Do you think they will really care about you over time?” Staring at Su Ran, a cold look flashed through Su Jianguo’s eyes.
Narrowing his eyes, he said, “The Su family might not be as strong as it once was, but the Su family is still the Su family.
It would befit you to not go against us.”

Su Ran just smiled lightly in light of Su Jianguo’s threat.
Her look couldn’t be more contemptuous.

“What did you think you were doing?” said Su Han sternly through gritted teeth as he stared at the man in front of him, alarmed.

Su Jianguo, too, was surprised at the appearance of Su Han.

Looking at the teenage boy that was standing in front of Su Ran in a protective way, Su Jianguo’s eyes dimmed a little and something occurred to him.

“So, this is that son of yours, huh?” Su Jianguo glanced over at Su Ran and snickered.

Lo and behold, he showed up all by himself just like that.
That surely made things much easier for them.

Hearing what Su Jianguo had said and that he had figured out who Su Han was, Su Ran frowned immediately and a hint of alarm and nervousness appeared on her.

Giving Su Jianguo a look, Su Ran said nothing but turned and left, dragging her son with her.

The Su family did not bother her but she did not want her son to have anything to do with them.

As much as the story had already deviated so much from the original plot, Su Han running into the Su family was still bad news.
