Yang Mo was working overtime.
After he placed his phone down, he rubbed his eyes a little.

Because Yang Han mentioned Han Shi Yu just now, he was reminded of him so he looked over at their chat.

Han Shi Yu really was extremely busy lately.
But he still insisted on sending him a message every day at least.
This was a habit he firmly adhered to since their university days without missing a day.

But it was mostly just one-way messages.
Yang Mo usually didn’t reply to him if it wasn’t anything important, but he did read through every message from him, one by one.
And of course, he had even carefully read all the posts that Han Shi Yu had shared to him without missing out on any.

The new project that he received lately was to create a link between the literature, video, livestream and music column on Qu Di.
The recommendations, classifications and other mechanisms on these four columns were originally different.
Having to link them together now while highlighting the users’ preferred content in an organized way had caused the difficulty to increase significantly.

For now, several proposals had been taken over by Yang Mo so he had gotten quite busy recently too.

…Han Shi Yu really was a fool.

Yang Mo thought to himself.

He wasn’t so narrow-minded to the point of being mad just from watching fan-made video edits of Han Shi Yu with other people.
At first, he even thought they were quite amusing, but that fool shared it every day without stopping at all.
After exhausting himself from working the entire day, the first thing he saw on the phone was those…Anyone would be annoyed if that happened to them.

Furthermore, Yang Mo was a man.
His possessiveness was quite strong too.

He held up his forehead to rest for a while.
Just before he was about to dive back into work, a message from Han Shi Yu came.

Han Shi Yu: “Mo, are you asleep?”

Yang Mo did not reply.

Han Shi Yu then took a step further.

“Mo Mo?”

“Senior?”

“Darling?”

“Ge Ge?”

“Are you asleep~”

Seeing that tilde symbol, Yang Mo felt like he was caught by a salesman trying to sell their product.

He replied with annoyance, “I slept.”

Han Shi Yu immediately replied, “Guess what treasure I found?”

Han Shi Yu sent him a link.

Yang Mo closed his eyes, took a deep breath and told himself not to get mad at the fool.
Then, he tried his best to stay calm as he glanced at the title.

He blinked for a moment, realizing it was a fanfiction.

[Yu Xing]1

The labels: Younger gong, childhood friends, Han Shi Yu, Starry.

The summary: Uwaahhh I myself studied programming at Shou Cheng University.
While searching for information lately, I accidentally fell into an unpopular pit.
Everyone, you might not know of Starry, the god, who is one of the founding figures of Ji Xun.
Go and take a look for yourself, everyone.
I found out that he and Han Shi Yu used to study in my university and were junior and senior OMG.
I also realized…this CP is too unpopular that no one ships them sobs…I had no choice but to provide for myself.

As the topic was too unpopular, there were only a few comments.

“Oh my god, the author is a top student from Shou Cheng University!! Let me worship you!”

The author replied, “Don’t worship me…I’m one of those third-rate students in a first-rate university that you hear from the legends…”

“I went and search up Starry…Towards his resume, I can only say goddamn…it’s fucking amazing (there are so many profound things that I don’t understand…).”

The author replied, “He’s my senior! Our teacher spoke about him in class!! *Sobs* When he told us about him and Han Shi Yu, I was smiling like a proud mother all along! They were so in a love-hate relationship, awsl2!”

“My brother majored in programming as well.
He told me when Ji Xun was just established, Starry the god flew back from abroad to join in without any hesitation.
Other major media companies offered him sky-high salaries yet he wasn’t poached away.”

The author replied, “[shake hands] I’ve met a comrade who understands!”

Yang Mo: “……”

Han Shi Yu smiled, “The characterization in this resembles you quite a bit.
Quickly, go and read it.
But it really is too unpopular, there’s only this one fanfiction.”

For a moment, Yang Mo was silent but he ended up smiling helplessly for a bit later.

He said: “What are you up to all day long.”

Han Shi Yu: “Thinking3 of you all day long, of course!”

Yang Mo: “What are you thinking of me for? Go discuss your projects.”

Han Shi Yu replied sweetly, “I do that because I love you the most! Look at Yang Han that brat.
I don’t miss her.”

Yang Mo: “……”

Why did that sentence sound a little familiar?

He frowned a little.

How in the world did Yang Han and Han Shi Yu resemble each other so much?

Yang Mo sighed.

He put his computer aside and quietly finished reading the fanfiction.
He realized the writing style was quite bland but it was very warm, depicting Han Shi Yu, that silly guy quite similarly to his real self.

When Yang Mo was done with work, it was already midnight.
He initially planned to pack up and rest at home but noticed the summer starry sky outside the window.
It looked so vast and boundless, which gave off a feeling that life was short and fickle, much like a drop in the ocean.
That made his exhaustion and worries feel so insignificant in this moment.

While he was in the elevator, he mindlessly opened his chatting app and noticed that Han Shi Yu changed his avatar to a starry sky.

It seemed like it was just taken not too long ago?

Yang Mo was going to tap on it to check but ended up realizing Han Shi Yu had changed his nickname as well.

“Among the group of stars shining brightly, I’ll pluck only you.”

Yang Mo: “……”

He wasn’t sure whether to cry or smile as he stayed on the page for a while longer.
After that, he put his phone away and opened the car door.

Still just like a child, he hadn’t changed at all.

T/N: They are the cutest!! T-T This chapter melted my heart, especially that ending.
They’re so domestic and sweet, it hurts- Also, this will be the last chapter on the ‘Fanfiction’ story/arc.
I know it’s getting a little long but it’ll be a new focus on the next chapter!

Footnotes

雨星 = Rain Star  awsl = Ah, I’m dead  T/N: I debated a lot here because he could also mean ‘missing you’ since he used the word 想 which is both miss/think, so take it however you want.
